I like how different people thoughts are on the whole thing. 

I don't think the little girl is going to be spiritually damaged by the whole thing, personally.  I think she will be temporairly comforted in dealing with death as a 4 year old.

She probably won't even remember the whole thing in 15 years...but if she does, I doubt the experience will have negative connotations.

How psychologically terrible can it be for a child to receive a letter from god?  Certainly not any more then Christmas morning...or a couple of bucks from the tooth fairy.  :shrug:

Children beleive things...it's not a bad thing.  I think they are better off then we are.  :heart:

This is no different than the letter from Santa that I got one year, waaayy back in the early '70's.

I never really bought into that whole ignorance is bliss idea, even as a child :shrug:

Odds are you're right and the child will be comforted for the time being and grow up normal and healthy and all that, but imagine the irony if she grows up to be some sort of hateful religious extremist.

I just think that god is a very adult topic is all and that too many people have preconceived notions before they are ever given a chance to develop their cognitive faculties.
