Wether or not this story is 100% true, it's sweet and touching.

Somebody at the post office has a curious mind and a sweet heart. I really liked it, thanks for posting.

Are you serious? You think that it's alright for someone to send a fake letter from God to a kid?

We've got to get them while they're still young and the Creationism can really set in.

Now that I think about it, I agree with you. That kid is destined for some spiritual crises in the future.

A nice thought, but probably inappropriate.

Every kid is in for some spiritual crises in their future.

Not saying I agree with the act, but it really doesn't matter in the long run. Everyone has an opportunity to pull their heads out of their asses eventually.

She will probably go through phases where she believes strongly in it, then phases where she downright KNOWS her mother wrote the letters, then balance out somewhere in between.

It's no different than unwrapping the presents you asked for in your letter to Santa on Christmas morning. You suspect all along, and eventually are disillusioned.

But that doesn't mean you can't get over the resulting angst and eventually come to realize that the SPIRIT of christmas is something that lives on through every loving person and that this is the basic premise of Santa Claus as it manifests in our society.

It is an example of the apple of the tree of knowledge; and there's really no need for a child to take that leap until they are ready to do so. This girl was not ready. If she was, she would have said "Fuck you, mom, you wrote that shit!" and stormed out of the room in rebellion.

P.S. God wrote the letter. God is love, and what is a mother to her child if not love? God wrote the letter, through the willing hands of either her mother or a local poster worker.

Spirit moves through all things...

That kid is going to spend the next 15 years or so of her life completely believing in god because in the back of her mind she will always remember that He (lol caps) sent her a letter.

Kinda like on easter my dad snuck up and started pounding on the door. My mom told me it was the easter bunny and I believed in the easter bunny until I was about 9 years old.

I can't decide if I should be happy and touched that the little girl is "happy", or sad and angry that that "happiness" is based on a false premise.

What a wonderful post, thanks.  About 3 or 4 tears just ran down my cheek.  Truly touching, great post.  It totally brightened an already good day I am having.

The www.di.fm chillout channel really affected the impact that reading the letter had on me.  It's so relaxed and gentle on the soul.

Thank you.

And then the Lord sayed, in a booming voice, "Animals are the devil incarnate and only dogs go to heaven"

Pure magic He is.
