Im pretty sure mushroom season is over here after the frosts we've had. Best time of year is around novemeber for liberty caps though ive heard they can grow sparse in the spring too. Best spots are actually at the coast about 2hrs away.

Liberty caps have never been up in the spring. They are a cold weather mushroom. Although I once found twenty or so on a lawn in the spring, late May near Southcenter Mall in Tukwilla, Washington.

They like tall rank grass and sedge grass and grow along the roots.

Keep yuou eyes open for blue ringers between March and AUgust. They will appear in man made lawns like small carpets.

Also Panaeolus subbalteatus is common in Corvalis and Eugene, Oregon between February and late May in rotted haystacks and at riding stables and racetracks.
