Ok guitarists, decide my future!
    #8090471 -

Should I just buy an Epiphone Lespi, wait 4-5 months and buy a real Gibson or wait 5-6 months and buy a Parker Fly?

You decide!

but i played a Gibson les Paul studio the other day and almost creamed my pants.

Either would be a GREAT choice, but fuck the epiphone.

Parker are pretty nice, I'll admit it would be my first choice if I didn't have to wait half a year to save all the money they cost...

IMO buy an epiphone and invest in some good pickups, its indistinguishable from a gibson that way. Epiphones are quality guitars.

No I agree. I've played squires and epiphones before with such good tone and that feel so good to play. The only difference is the price of the materials they use, and each guitar is not the same, so you can really save a lot of money if you just search a lot and then upgrade it through pickups and such.

I really am uncertain about many musical areas; most of the shit I read on-line in articles or figure out myself....I don't get to converse with musicians often:shrug:

I LOVE playing guitar; It is like starting to be one of the only REAL fun things for me.

Yeah I love guitar as well. I'm one of those people who has very good physical ability,i.e. I have very strong fingers and good coordination, but I have very little practical theory knowledge. Also, I don't jam very much so I'm inexperienced when it comes to meshing with other musicians. It's something I'd really like to get better at actually.

epiphones are good guitars man but i'd wait and get the gibson or the parker (if you have the patience).

Jamming is without a doubt the hardest, yet most rewarding way of playing. That's where you REALLY learn

Theory is very important tho, but only as a surrogate to what you wanna say with your instrument, and not the only way around. Feeling first, always.

I've seen so many musicians with great technique who bored me out of my mind.

Epiphones are fine if you replace the pickups. A good real gibson is definitely a great looking and sounding guitar, but in terms of just sound, you can upgrade an epiphone to be real similar. I just bought a Schecter classic for a little over 500, sounds really excellent. Never heard a parker though

definitely.  I actually find that when I'm best at jamming is when I stop caring if it sounds "goofy" or not and just play.  That's why jamming while drunk is fucking awesome.

I am all over the place on guitar; It is quite sad actually;-)? I don't use picks (combo of finger picking and claw-hammer: striking with the nail)...basically I'm thinking I need to take Jazz lessons or something.

Jamming out is orgasmic when I do it, though; so is playing on Acid. I dunno, I could talk about music all day. I'll shut up.:yesnod:

Looks pretty sexy. Theres a handful of small luthiers that Id love to know more about and play. When I went to UC Santa Barbara, I tried getting an internship from a guy who makes bases and I think some guitars. He was pretty famous, though kind of an asshole, eh.
