Pancakes

Last Tuesday, the Tuesday before this past one, was National Pancake day here in the US. I know this because of an IHOP commercial. The pancake is probably the most inspirational and influential food in the world. I believe that one day last year when Denny's changed their pancake batter, you could hear the entire nation groan if you really listened hard.

Pancakes are what makes the world go round. Lets face it. What other food has inspired our European amateur film makers in such a way?

I'm not sure what it all means, but I am positive it means something.

And so, I offer this thread to the pancake gods so that we the Shroomery have a place to express our love for what may be the world's most important food.

ahhh brings back memories of when i was living in the UK :smile:

i remember the last pancake day i celebrated, a few friends over, we were all making crepe-like pancakes eating them with lemon and sugar and whipped cream! we made too many pancakes for us to eat so we ended up having a pancake throwing contest in the backyard :grin:

pancake day is really only celebrated (i think) in the commonwealth countries, otherwise, different countries have their own type of food which they eat on that particular day. it's the day before ash wednesday - so it's all about gluttony before having to fast for lent. at least here, the popular thing to do for shrove tuesday is to go sledding and eat these sweet buns filled with either jam or marzipan with whipped cream on top
