Schedules, whats the difference, LSA and Cannabis

I already posted that I was arrested with Marijuana and a hit of some unknown substance in a tab. I was charged with possession of marijuana, misdemeanor. And possession of a controlled substance LSD (so the cop thinks). Well I did some research and realized that Marijuana is schedule 1. But I got some info on the hit and I heard that it is LSA. LSA is a schedule 3 narcotic under the law. Well, I was just wondering what the penalties are for having LSA. And what is the difference between schedule 1 and schedule 3. I guess each case is different depending on where your location is. But what is there a good chance that they wont test it for LSA? Its only one hit, so do they only have one chance to test the substance?

Penalties for schedule 3 violations are generally less than schedule 1. Unless they go to the trouble of getting sophisticated tests on the tab, they won't be able to show what you actually had in the tab. You can't be convicted of "possible possession of LSD", they have to prove what it was.

Most likely, they will throw the LSD charge at you to add leverage, then they'll offer to drop the LSD charge (which they know they can't prove) in exchange for a guilty plea on cannabis possession.

Keep your mouth shut about the tab. Don't clue them in that it might not be LSD... the later they discover that the better.

It is very likely that the LSD charge would be dropped no matter what before trial, so when they "offer" to drop it in exchange for a guilty plea on cannabis, they're really offering nothing. Knowing that can really improve your ability to negotiate with the prosecutor.

wel damn, I guess I probably already said too much. I told the cop I don't think it's LSD. But maybe he will think I am lying so he won't test for LSD. LOL.

Good luck convincing them you bought completely refined LSA and was put on a blotter.

I don't see why a simple reagent test wouldn't be performed to prove what substance is on the blotter. They're practically free to do.
