is smoking a lot of hookah bad for you because of the foil? is there any way to smoke without using any?

foil? nah. many on here would argue that aluminum isn't bad at all.

the greater damage would be from:

1) the smoke itself

2) the coals - self-lighting coals give off chemicals when they are igniting, i've noticed most people put them on the hookah right away, when in fact you are supposed to leave them outside for a bit first.

oh and to answer your question, yes you can buy metal screens (so you don't have to use foil), but i think if i remember correctly, the ones i got were made out of aluminum as well.

I use glass and ceramic screens made for hookahs. Aluminum Foil gives of a deadly chemical when burned. My friend smoked tons of bud using foil for years and now he has a disease linked to the foil.

i think they are made of brass but im not 100% just replaced one last night, and for the basers stainless  but they are finer mesh and dont breath good after a couple weed hits.

I make my own super easy, oh yeah did i mention my friend is a professional glass blower.
