Many more to come, I didn't know it was a falcon until I looked through the 2 foot lens, lol. It looked like a female robin from a distance. Or something that wasn't a predatory bird. :p

dude if i had a cmaera like that i'd take some fucking mind blowing photos. My shit is limited by my camera. How much did you camera and lens cost you?

the whole digital revolution in photography still doesn't really appeal to me, but this does seem like a nice lens.

very nice photo. that lens has got to be huge and heavy. i've got a 100-300 that's starting to give me a bad shoulder after 3 yrs shooting with it.
you may want to take a peek at your ccd, the upper right corner has quite a few dust spots in it. there were a few along the top too. shoot something white or the sky and you'll see where they are.

My ccd is plenty dusty. I'd love to clean it, so tomorrow I think I'll buy the equipment to do so. :p I've got 45 bucks left. :O
Bigma lenses go for about a grand.

and that doesn't really matter as this is an SLR camera system, it can interchange between film and digital cameras. :p The photo would have been identical on 35mm.

but this photo was taken digitally, was it not? so at least in this picture, there IS a difference. I understand what SLR's are...my last job was a camera salesman position, which I HATED. You really can't say that this photo would have been "exactly the same on 35mm"...which is saying it'd be exactly the same on film...??? there is a WORLD of difference between a digital image and a film photograph...seriously.
btw: I'm not knockin you or your craft at all. I'm open-minded enough to clearly understand that whether digital or film, what really matters most is the photographer's knowledge, experience, and talent.
but yeah, i don't personally care much for digital photography. however that's just my own personal preference, which of course doesn't matter or apply to anyone else. so then why am I writing this?! I'm done.
I do look forward to seeing some more of your stuff though.
peace...

Minor differences (depending on the photographer, and how well he knows his equipment). I've worked as a camera sales person, actually I was a Lab Technician, I did all the image processing and printing, as well as all the post-editing and color correction that goes on behind the scenes at higher end photography stores. From Film (35, medium format, and plate, as well as black and white hand development) to digital, I've worked with it all, on a 500,000 dollar printer. :p I even own both digital and Film SLRs. If you use Slide film chances are your going to get different contrast/coloration.
Also depending on the white balance of the camera, it'll affect it, but I had the white balance tuned properly using a gray card.
As you were saying "there's a world of difference" except along with skill comes the ability to completely dissolve that distance. :p
To see some more of my photographs, check out my threads only, I've posted a BUNCH in here and around the forums, from macromushroom photography to landscapes etc.

Yeah I was a lab technician doing all those same things as well. Nothing like free developing and prints the one thing i truly do miss about that job...I HATED actually having to sell cameras, just not my cup o' tea.

well, slide film is primarily what I shoot with, plus the fact that I x-pro alot of my stuff...so yeah there is definitely a big difference for me personally. but I understand that in general the ability to see a significant difference between looking at a print photographed on film vs. a a digital print of the same thing (of course taken with a nice digital camera) is becoming more and more negligible.
I'm saving up for a super-wide angle 15mm heliar lens right now for street photography purposes

At the moment 35mm is finally falling below the threshold of Digital. My next digital camera is going to be 15megapixels.
I'd love to get a digital Medium Format back, but I don't have 30grand.
