Triple Boot Vista, XP and Leopard 10.5.1
    #7973087 - 02/03/08 01:30 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

I just got my system up with Vista and XP, did some research and now Mac OS X Leopard can be purchased and installed on a PC. I bought my Leopard license and finally got all three running flawlessly. Anyone here got a  similar set up? I got a few questions. Leopard runs ridiculously fast. Leopard probably will be my default now knowing I didn't steal any of this like most people do to get Mac OS x86 on their PC.

How difficult is installing Leopard?

Well if you buy a licensed copy then it is somewhat hard, but if you want to try it out for fun on your PC then you can download Leopard install disks made by users. You just have to know how to partition drives write and set up proper boot loaders and such. Also checking hardware compatibility is a must before you even invest some time, get all your info and questions here:

Mac OS x86

When its all done and set up, its def worth it  :typing:

Yep. It is a decent OS. A bit bloated, but not bad.

Depends upon your hardware. Anywhere from impossible to trivial.

How loud are the raptor drives? I've been thinking about getting one, but I have read that they are noisy and I prefer silent computers.

When loading something like CS3 or a larger it speeds up but to be honest I have two raptors and it isn't that loud at all, sometimes it can get loud but 90% of the time its just as quiet as all other drives, load speeds are worth it though.

how did you install leopard on a separate partition?

i looked on how to do this once, and everything said it would not work on a partition but needed its own hard drive
