southwest hunting

a few years ago while living in new mexico i ran into a guy on a jobsite who had some shrooms that where real tiny with bright yellow caps said he had picked them in N.M. he gave me a hand full which i did a few days later . they where quite good. i have never heard of the magic growing in the southwest. can anyone tell me .i am now in Arizona

They could have been gold caps? i heard of them growing in utah, but i'm not sure if its legit, TRYING TO FIND THIS OUT.
