Monstrous chicken of the woods

I live in northeast Florida and went bike riding in Fort Clinch State park last weekend. Anyhow, there were some monstrous chicken of the woods growing on many of the oak trees (wish I had my camera). Too bad it is a state park and you can't remove stuff like this. Anyhow, I am just wondering whether many folks here like this fungus? I love it and you can check out pics in the website in my signature to see ones I have harvested on my own property. I am curious if others have good recipes they recommend for this.

I found some nice specimens in hawaii about a week ago. We picked them, and then realized we had no way to cook them. So, we tried microwaving them with what we had, margarine and onions. Let's just say, didn't work out too well. They became very rubbery. Enjoy your chickens.

my experience with chicken of the woods , is not good , i find they more in the city in eucaliptus trees, and taste bitter, gues because eucaliptus make everything bitter...

I like them, fried after dredging in flour, egg then flour again. You don't need but a little oil in the pan when you make them this way.

They are also good in cooked tomato based anything, sauce, soup, cassaroles, ect. When I add them to something like spagetti sauce, I saute them first and then add them to the sauce.
