i didn't do jack shit for christmas

i didn't buy anyone anything, no cards, nothing. aside from working a lot while still being broke, i didn't have any excuse not to get people a bunch of shit. honestly, christmas doesn't mean one fucking thing to me anymore. seeing family is all fine and good too, unless your family is all fucked and twisted. x-mas, among many holidays, is a bitter, somber reality check for me. does anyone, by any chance, dislike this holiday as much as i do?

Yeah my household is really independent, we rarely speak so it's a weird holiday.  I actually unwrapped my presents alone in my room because it's just weird doing the whole Christmas morning thing...it's gotten that far. :shrug:

Nobody called me to any parties, no family visited, couldn't get to the state store in time, ran out of weed, no money....  I hate this holiday as well.  So lonely.

i hear you though newbie, my family is very independent [parents divorced, i never see family except my brother] as well. so i see where you're at. i just hate that feeling of obligation to go buy a lot of shit at a certain time of year to show you give a damn. generosity shouldn't be measured by how much you shell out. gahhh fuck xmas, the premise has been watered down so low it's all about the fucking gifts and prissy white meat bitches getting their new bmws and shit. fuck this country and its consumer holidays

I'm with you, fuck buying anything. Its only ever trivial trinkets for family that never get used.
Last few years it has just been me and my cousin getting blind in different locations. Its more enjoyable then putting on a fake smile and conversing with family that you won't see untill someone dies or gets married.

I'm from a family that's all either dead or out of it, my wife's family does the whole "let's pretend like it's 1982 and people still cared" thing, so I play along.

It's like folks who have conversations with the corpse at a funeral, what's the point??

Christmas died for me a LONG time ago, and to be honest, I don't miss it. Although I do my best not to crap on anyone who has good family and friends and still seem to mean it. But that stuff is ALIEN to me.

Take care of yourselves guys. Don't let it get you down.

I never celebrated this holiday either since I'm not Christian/ Catholic whatever. But it looks a hell of a lot better in England when it comes to feasts. My boyfriend's family never had this moment either so I guess it works out for the two of us that any holiday is just a regular day.

Last night and today has been my first xmas not making it to my family, I was shroomin last night and every now and again i'd think about being there with them. I missed it actually...  Now on the other hand i hate christmas, i hate getting up early,  i hate all the chaos in the city, i hate spending money on other peoples shit(when i just moved..looking for a job and running low on funds).  It's all about spending time and having a few laughs with the ones who'll always care about you.  Next year..

O yea, happy xmas and shit :smile:
