My DVD Player Won't Play My Burned DVD's
    #7790554 -

I just got this new fancy laptop that can burn CD's and stuff. I'm using CDBurnerXP to burn the DVD's, but when I put in my DVD's I just get this "DVD Player May Not Support Playback Feature" or something like that.

Why the hell is my DVD player not playing my burned DVD's?! :crankey:

it's probably not burning them to the right format or something, either that or your DVD player doesn't support it.

First... are you using DVD-R discs?
Second... Make sure you're DVD player supports that format

Yes, these are DVD-R's.

I'll check and see if my DVD player can support DVD-R's. I don't know why a DVD player wouldn't though.

Are you converting the files first? Unless your dvd player plays data discs it wont work. i.e are you just burning out avi's?

Well,

I guess CDBurnerXP is converting my .avi files while being burned. I'm just assuming so. That's what a DVD burning program does I think

not if you're burning data DVDs/CDs it doesn't.

yeah it doesnt support divx or xvid. Download this http://www.mininova.org/tor/712133 and convert your avi files then burn the files in the video_ts(or something like that) onto a dvd disc.

you wish.

burning dvds can get pretty complicated.

you need to take the .avi file and reencode it, you should have a bunch of .vob files in the dvds video folder, and most likley none at all in the audio folder.

its not as easy as just dragging an .avi file into the program and burning the dvd. all your getting is dvd with the .avi file on it, not a playable movie disc.

I don't think these are data dvd's. it's a really simple program and it asks me at the menu, would you like to burn a dvd or a audio CD. I choose DVD.

There is no mention of making a data disc.

There's a program out there called DVDSanta that makes the whole process really easy, you just select your AVI or MPG and it converts and burns it for you. It takes a few hours though.
