Teeth Whitening?

All issues concerning vanity aside, has anyone ever had problems with keeping their teeth on the whiter side? I brush 2-3 times a day with Arm and Hammer Baking Soda extra whitening toothpaste, and I still can't get to that pearly white that I so desire.

How much does dentist whitening cost? And is it effective? What am I doing wrong?

shyt i'm no dentist but there are other things that can stain your teeth..

think about it.

do you drink sodas/coffe/smoke cigarettes?

that all stains your teeth (which is why i dont do it)

if so maybe quit doing that and you will have whiter teeth.

also.. somedays mine are whiter than others, i dont know why this is :tongue:

my girl always gets pissed at me cuz i dont brush em at night.

and that listerine whitening mouthwash worked well for me..

i haven't tried any of the strips or whatever.. i naturally have pretty healthy teeth.

I haven't tried it myself but I have witnessed results from the white strips you can get at any self respecting pharmacy.

i am using those right now, such a fucking mess and i hear they are really abusive on the gumline.

also, i don't smoke, i don't drink coffee, i have a soda maybe 4 times a week. i could easily stop that, but i somehow get the feeling that it's not the sole culprit. is there a particular toothpaste brand that whitens better than others?

I think it's about $100 for a set of custom trays for your top and bottom teeth and a couple syringes of the whitening stuff. Depends on the dentist you go to I guess. After four days you see a serious difference and from then on you just apply it everyday till you reach your desired whiteness. All you have to do is put a little drop of the whitening gel on the trays and then put them on for an hour every night. Don't keep them on overnight, bad news.

cool, does insurance cover this at all? just a guess i am looking for, i know everyone's policies are diff.

i doubt insurance would cover it, as i think it's considered cosmetic and not 'needed'. but i don't know shit.

well, i think once they're white if you continue to brush like you have been (2-3 times a day) they should stay pretty white, just gotta take care of them afterwards.
