    #7772325 - 12/18/07 12:02 AM (16 years, 1 month ago)

was wondering if you someone would give advice on turbo yeast 24 hour and making a neutral spirit..
questions.
can a culligan type 3 or 5 gallon plastic jug be used for fermenting?
if so should they just be filled 4 gallons and have 10 lbs sugar each?
what would you use to cover the spout?
how do you know when fermentation has completed?

don't mean to be a pest with all these noobish questions but i would like to start this asap.

thanks alot

yes a culligan 5 gallon water bottle is what i ferment in, i dump one 10 pound bag of sugar and then a couple gallons of hot or boilling water in, and then let fill almost full with cold water, then i let it set for a little while untill its cool enough to put yeast in,

i use a one gallon ziplock baggie and a rubber band to cover the top of the bottle, just poke some little holes with a needle in the bag so that co2 can escape,

im going to post a pictorial on sugar water and yeast- 95% alcohol moonshine distilled in a pressure cooker in a couple days so look out for that,

peace out Dm

I would add about a cup of strongly brewed tea and a quarter cup of lemon juice as well. Always had better results with plain sugar with the extras added in.
