Re: New 'Mouse Shortcuts' Feature [Re: Shmoppy McGillicuddy]

nice, i've been using gestures in firefox for the back butten but this will be sweet...
if you can though, make is so that when there's no forward history it takes you to the next page of a thread (THAT would be mega usfull for me as i've yet to figure out a simple way to do that (you
don't want me actualy clicking anything now do you :smirk:)

Great idea. I added the functionality as you suggested... if there's no forward history, it takes you to the next page of the thread. If there's no next page, it takes you to the next older thread. I
also added this functionality to the post list, so if there's no forward history it takes you to next next page of posts. Thanks for the suggestion!

Re: New 'Mouse Shortcuts' Feature [Re: Ythan]

I use firefox. I always open up pages in "tabs" so that I can load pages in the background while I am reading (a habit which carries over from the days of dial-up...)

Opening a web page in a "tab" requires me to right click, menu drops from mouse, and I "open in new tab" with a left click.

Which means, I am constantly using right click -left click.  My fingers sometimes drag a bit, and (sometimes) I inadvertantly move the page I am using backwards, when I only want to open a new page in the background.

If there is a way to disable this feature, it would be great.  If not, no worries...

I'll look into adding an option to disable this feature, but you should middle-click to open a link in a new tab, it's so much faster!

I don't have access to a Mac, but I did test this under Konqueror which should give results similar to Safari. In this case I simply couldn't get the feature working on that platform due to technical limitations. There aren't 'mouse down' and 'mouse up' events for right-clicks, just a single 'right-click' event which fires after the context menu has been displayed. I spent a frustrating hour or two trying to come up with a workaround, but eventually I accepted defeat. Use Firefox.
