if i spawned a layer of poop directly in a terrarium, with no casing layer, what would be he optimum humidity? still 82-92?

You ought to cover the dung during the colonisation, then place it into a very moikst terrarium untill pins develop.

the only reason i dont want to case them is i only able to get to my apt for harvesting. im currently in a different state and cant be running back and forth all the time to check how they are doing. as a result i lost 4 big casings to overlay i am currently trying to revive. i figure i just might use them to spawn some poo (lots! this is over 32 cased cakes.) the thing is, i dont want to come back home to another overlay disaster and figure uncased will be more forgiving.

i am gonna grow out doors, but also indoors...i like to diversify my porfolio
oh, Moe thats 32 cakes (8 cakes or so per casing) , not 32 casings, i would be in over my head, litterally. i meant i want to spwawn lots of poop... i figure this should be enough to do the trick...

I don't know if this feasible, but since you're away from your shrooms, it might be worth a shot. You can set up a webcam outside your terrarium that you could monitor over the web. That way, you could check on your shroomies whenever you like and would know exactly when you needed to pay them a visit. A while back, I put my dogs up in a kennel. They had a webcam in their room, so I could check them out over the web!
