opening mail that is not yours..

i just got my mail and there is what seems to be a xmas/brithday card to a girl that i guess used to live here before my roommates and I

holding it up to the light i can see atleast a 20$ bill.

this is one of those situations they tell you about in elementary school.

i am broke tho.:sad:

what would you do....its probably just a 20...but the karma..sighhh

If you can almost see the $20 then chances are if you "return to sender" some postal inspector along the way will see it too. Not saying this justifies stealing it, but better you then them right?

Save the return address, and when you have enough money, send a letter to that address explaining your situation and include a money order for $20

This girl had mail arriving at my old apt for over a year no matter how many times I told the post office she didn't live there anymore. Then around X-Mas time last year she got a small package. I figured, fuck it, and opened it, and found a $175 designer leather case for an iPod mini. That made my shopping a little easier. No, I didn't feel guilty. Bitch had been filling up my tiny mailbox for one and a half years already.

Don't take it man, that'd be fucked up.  Imagine if that card was yours..but if it's a huge hassle to get it back to the person than I'd say fuck it and take the money.  You're gonna feel like an ass afterwards trust me.:(

I think it was a few years ago that I kept getting mail for some guy and one time my father decided to open one of them, lo and behold it was a check from microsoft for like $250,000. Too bad it was just a copy of the check.
