My Pedro is starved for light

I've recently moved to the big city and my pedro is now only getting about 2 to 3 hours of direct sunlight a day (damned skyscrapers). How long do you think he can survive this treatment? Is there anything I can do to compensate for this?

He'll adjust. Just like the Pedro that germinates behind a rock formation in the desert
(Obviously he won't grow quite as much as a Pedro that gets more light, but he ain't gonna die either).

You might try buying a full spectrum light. It contains all the wavelengths that plants and people need to survive. It is the oly light out there that actually simulates sunlight pretty well. I used to grow well stuff and i usedthese lights and they work great. Just throw your san pedro underneath the light for 6 hours a day and it should bounce back. Those cacti are pretty tough though so you might be okay just letting it go on the 2-3 hours like it is right now. If it starts to wilt and look like it is getting wrinkled then you might need the full spectrum light.

You should eat it. One of the theories on raising the potency of cacti is to dark shock them for a while.

I grew my San Pedro from tiny buttons to 20" beauties in one year using Daylight Delux flourescents. I just had them in with my orchids and fertilized them with organic tea. I would call this modest light but the increased hours compensate. Most desert plants survive by absorbing the morning dew. I mist my cacti as often as I think of it.

My pedro seems to be doing alright. He's been in the city for about 6 weeks and he's looking OK. He is getting a little skinny on the new growth. I figure this is due to lack of sun. Kind of ugly looking but hopefully when i et my new apartment he'll get more light.
I'm concidering buying some lights but am currently unemployed so it'll have to wait until i get some cash flow. How much do those full-spectrum deals sell for? Whats the wattage on them?
