Peter Jackson is filming his new movie today right in my hometown.

It's called "The Lovely Bones" and it's being filmed in my tiny ass town of about 4500.  I think I'm going to head down to Main St. and catch some of the action. :grin:

The Lovely Bones? Is it an adaptation of the novel about the girl who was raped and murdered? Doesn't seem like Jackson's style...

LOL at the thought of it being like "The Frighteners" though.

Well that was pretty cool.  I stopped down the street after work today and a huge crowd was gathered at the intersection so I joined in to watch.  Mark Wahlberg was doing a scene where he's talking to some chic, then someone shouts something, then he dives out of the way of an oncoming car.  They filmed this scene 15 times or so then I left.  Apparently my friend got an autograph and a picture with him just as I left.  It would've been cool to meet a celebrity but I'm content with the fact that Main St. of my hometown is the scene of an upcoming Hollywood movie and I was there to see part of it filmed :thumbup:

That is awesome. I would love to be able to see part of a Hollywood film being shot. I studied film in college but never got to witness something like you just did.

Theres been a lot of action in CT too, specfically Bridgeport. Over the summer Harrison Ford was shooting for the new Indy film, recently a friend of mind served Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro in a local diner, and more recently I drove past a local Dutchess and witnessed John Travolta and Robin Williams preparing for a take or something. We have a small airport right down the road from there, the buzz around town was that Travolta flew in his own jet. I'm mostly interested in being able to see local scenery on the big screen.
