yeah, I'm already planning on getting a mac for these purposes.  good call

But I've been reading about final cut and it's reviews say it's rather complex.  I'm looking for something that much more simplified, but still has the power and features to do things.  Almost how cool edit is to music editing software.

I looked at some tutorial videos of Ilife and it doesn't seem to have the features I'm looking for to first record and mix a good song and then be able to sync it up to videos of me playing those individual instruments in that song.  It seemed almost over simplified like "just click on an audio sample and drag over...it will instantly become your background music"

I'm new to this, so don't know what is really involved to first record and mix a song using good daw software(i'm going to have to switch from cool edit when I get the mac) and then have it synced up perfectly to video of me playing it.  I'd prefer if I could simultaneously record the video and audio so it's exactly the same performance of what's in the song.  Any suggestions of anything?  thanks again
