Find In Southern Cali

Hey Everyone.. I don't have a pic and it's probably not even any type of active mushroom... AND I didn't have a camera ready to take a pic but...

I found it growing in the grass (open area, some pine trees) on a golf course by my house in Southern California on a walk today.
The color was brown, it was small and thin with a conical cap. Gills were brown in color, not a dark brown, not a light brown. Stem was about 4" tall and 1/8" thick same diameter all the way up and flexuose. The Cap was the same color as the stem, small and Obtusely conical, about 3/4" in diameter, straight margin with gills subdistant and adnate. It was dull brown in color (almost a fine peach fuzz look but not texture) If I see another one, I'll snatch a photo.

C. lactea is an outdated synonym. The current nomenclature is C. albipes, however, names change so frequently, that many sites have a hard time catching up.
