Has the picture size of allowable avatars been reduced lately?

I tried to make a pic I uploaded be my avatar- it's one I had used previously- but now it won't let me saying it's too big. But I had used that very pic before for months with no problem.

What gives?

I also went into 'My pics' just now and tried to select the avatar I had been using just one week ago and now it says it is too big. It was just fine a week ago, now it's too big. :confused:

Man, this is annoying. I can't use my favorite avatar - the very same one I've been using for over a year and now it's suddenly too big? :confused:

What's the URL of the avatar? Do you get a screen where you can crop it or just an error message?

I tried entering the URL and doing it that way rather than just checking the avatar box and got the resize message again. I had already cropped the pic that I was using right up until Halloween. When I tried to go back to it I get the size msg.

That image is 150 x 150, the limit is 80 x 80 for non-supporters.

I take it the avatar size allowances for non-supporters changed recently. I was using that pic as my avatar for almost a year up until last week. Now I can't change it back.

I also noticed other avatars I had used previously now no longer work. :confused:

No it's always been 80 x 80. Before it would just automatically resize the image, but that could skew the proportions so now it prompts you to select a square.

Got it. Can you suggest a program I could use to shrink the image?

You can still do it through the site just click and drag to select the whole image during the cropping stage.
