oyster prints?

when is the time to take prints from phoenix oysters? i had buried a batch of wood n' paper oyster substrate, i thought was dead, and today i found a shitpot full of oysters growing up thru the ground. i want to continue growing em, but i am out of agar to make clones, si i thought maybe i could use a print until i can get some more agar in. the gills are white now, so i am not sure when i can make a print from them....any help would be appreciated

I'm sure you can get spore prints now, oysters start releasing spores as soon as the gills develop. The spore print should be white.
