Good job Red Sox. Even though it sucks to be swept and have them celebrate on the home field, they played like they wanted it more.
I will say that the future of the Rockies looks damn bright and I will admit that my devotion to them has waned in the last few years (I've been a fan since I went to a game at the old Mile High), I'm a full-fledged fan again and I already cannot fuckin' wait for next season.

It wouldn't shock me to see a re-match next year. The Rockies get the pitching staff healthy, maybe one more bat, going into Spring knowing that they have what it takes, and it should be a GREAT year.

Yeah, the Rockies have a ton of young, very talented guys. I think they'll be contenders next year as well.

Yeah, their starters look like they will be very solid. I wonder how well Helton is going to hold up though. I hope he gets a ring. Such a great hitter.

Well congrats on your team winning the WS. You too Liz....
I have no problems as a Mets fan saying the Red Sox played good ball, and deserves to be the champs.
Oh but i do have to address that cocky Red Sox fan who felt he needed to brag as if his ass was on the field playing, to get them this victory, and made a comment about my team. I got three things for yea.
One: Learn the definition of the word rivalry. 26 wins Vs 2 isn't even close.
Two: You can blast my METS all you want for screwing up, but we have meet in the WS and we beat you there, Phil Buckner.
Three: Sometimes losers cheer for winners, only when they are winning..
But you still are one of my favorite people, you jerk..
Congrats , true Red Sox fans.

The thing with the Rox is that the NL is WEAK! The Yanks will retool, Angels will get A-Rod, the AL is stacked.

But my Braves will do pretty well I think. They'll get into the playoffs at least. I mean if we ever get Hampton back.

I don;t totally agree with that statement, but ill agree to disagree, and respect what you think...
If the trades, and firings happen as it has been rumored, you will see a few good NL teams next year...
I as a METS fan, make no excuses for the METS, other then the fact Randolf was not the manger needed, and didn't know how to deal with, or pull them out of the trouble they got in... Next year the METS now have something to prove, and are hungry to silence the critics .. They have good players, and i think this was humbling, and was a wake up call to get on the ball, and be the best till the end.
I see the Rockies also being strong because they got beaten bad, and want to prove they should have gotten their first WS title... Again a strong team who is going to show why they got to the dance to begin with.
And of course there is the pre 2004 Red Soxs of the NL, The Chicago Cubs.. There is no team i more wish a WS victory to other then this team. This is a team that wants it more then just about any other team in the MLB. And they are getting closer and closer each year. Could 2008 be that year?
And please don't ever count out the Dimondbacks to pull off a surprise win.
Look for one of these four teams next year to upset the AL in the 2008 WS. There is my prediction, a year in advance.
And if i had to hope for a 2008 WS match up... METS Vs Red Soxs.

Good points all around. And as much of a story the Rockies were, and still are, the mets collapse is also historic. It will be very interesting to see how they respond. They certainly have all the pieces to be a challenger. As a lifelong Cubs fan, they will need to fill a few holes, and without a Milwaukee choke, they couldn't even make it out of a pathetic central.
Although, as you point out, trades, free agency, etc will change the face of the game, not to mention that with baseball, the craziest things happen (see 2 Florida titles in the past 11 years)
But the AL is SICK. And anything can happen in a 7 game series.
But I think we can count on the Sox, Yanks, Angels, and Tribe to be there again.
How many days until pitchers and catchers report???
