Can hash oil be expeller-pressed?

Quote:
Expeller pressed oil is oil extracted from nuts or seeds by crushing them. This is different than many types of oil extraction methods. Many companies first make expeller pressed oil and then treat the oil with chemicals like Hexane to extract the remaining oil from the source. Usually expeller pressed oil only can get about 66% of the oil from the nuts or seeds, so yield of oil is lower.
However, some natural foods companies feel that it is better to have a lower yield than to chemically treat the seeds. They are concerned that expeller pressed oil treated with chemicals might leave residuals of the chemicals in the oil. Expeller pressed oil is generally more expensive, but many companies that solely produce expeller pressed oil feel that the quality is better and healthier.

When you look up hash oil, all you ever hear about it using solvents to extract it, but I'm thinking that's just because it's only done clandestinely.

You need to read more.
that method would work great for hempseed, I would guess the thc could be destroyed by the pressure.
If it aint being done already with MJ its most likely been Bunked.

I believe it would be rather nutritive than stoning.

you'll be extracting oils for sure, but they won't be thc... wrong part of the plant... the buds have high thc. that's why we don't smoke the roots of the plant or the seeds... the thc is not there...
you could find more amusing ways of extracting hash too... like... spining the buds in a high speed, inside a clear plastic tube, while shooting water at it...
the reason we extract with chemicals is because it works better... big crops like linseed can be wasted by using this method you proposed, but when you have a limited amount of cannabis, you sure want to extract the most out of it...

That's the old way of doing it, taking really resinous hash and when pressing it with heat getting a little oil sapping out.
But you don't get much and it's the old way, your just taking it out of the hash block and not simply converting trichromes into hash oil and leaving behind more empty trichs for an emptier use.......your just using it all up to convert it these days and people prefer that, instead of just making one product better than another and using the lesser product as well.
So if you pressed hash and got some oil, and mixed that together it would be nearly pointless (your just getting it all mixed together in a different form).
You can distill it, not sure how they do that but a reflux is what is wisest.
