can you use an ipod as a external hard drive

well you can upload pictures and videos...also I think you can put linux on your ipod which may help put document files and pdf's and shit.

good to know
how would one go about doing that?
I only have a thirty gig and its almost full of music so maybe in the the next year or two I'll just buy a 160 gig and double it as a backup which I need as anyways.

yea but honestly who goes to the science and technology forum??? anyways this place is for "laid back discussion." I would say this is pretty laid back. It is not like it is rocket science.

anyways mikeytro I am not sure because I never put linux on my ipod, just some friends have. i am sure you can google some reputable sources. good luck. I got a 30 gb as well and it is loaded to the max.

Just plug your iPod in, open up iTunes (or whatever you use) and tick "Enable Disk Use".
