Extremely frequent flashbacks?
    #7459300 - 09/27/07 08:45 AM (16 years, 4 months ago)

I was asking a friend what they thought of mushrooms and lsd, and was shocked upon hearing their reply.

Now this particular friend will smoke the ganja til the cows come home...and would most likely offer it to the poor cows, too..

She tells me, however, that she will never go near shrooms or lsd because she knows/knows of many people who have become, er, rather fucked up because of it. She says some of them experience hallucinations even whilst off the drugs (when I suggested "flashbacks", she said some of her  friends see hallucinations very frequently - almost every day).

She concluded the conversation by strongly advising against me experimenting with either shrooms or lsd, for fear of me becoming brain dead like the rest of her druggie pals.

What do you guys think, is there a high chance that i will turn into a mong if I try these drugs?

No. The vast majority of "Acid casualties" are people who just indulged in irresponsibly high doses in inappropriate surroundings far too often for their own good. Frankly, I feel (and see in other people) negative effects from weed far more often than from psychedelics, even with the disparities in usage of the two types of drug taken into account.

Be intelligent, be moderate, and be careful and you will be fine.

As long as one practices responsible drug-use, they'll be fine.

Only do what you're comfortable with, mind set and setting, know your source, know your substance, and if you have a history of mental illness, either personally or in the family, be very mindful of the progression of your mental state.

what she probably hasnt said is these druggie friends of hers do loads of other drugs very often as well as acid/mush.
basically make your own decision, and tbh i wouldnt take advice on psychs from someone who has never done them.

It can happen, I know a few people from high school who were either on mushrooms, lsd, or mdma (or a combo) every other day and it made them appear to be braindead. One claimed his vision has been really fucked up for the last few years and is slowly improving by not tripping. Just don't overdo it.

Well there was this one kid i knew and he took to much acid, now he thinks he's a bottle of vitamin water Revive. He always runs up to people who look tired or hung over saying DRINK ME DRINK ME, i mean its good he wants to help people but thats fucked up. We spilled him all over the place one time and he flipped out.

wtf? are you guys serious? or seriously naive? i have been tripping for over 15 years now and havent noticed a side effect. some people in society have mental illness but that doesnt mean its drug related. mental illness tends to show its head while people are entering adulthood which does happen to be the time when people start experimenting. this does not mean psychedlics are the cause.

I had a friend once,
he took some acid,
now he thinks he's a fire engine

It's ok,
untill he pisses on your lighter,
kinda smells,
kinda cool,
kinda funny anyway

I had a friend once,
he took some extacy,
tried to marry me,
and everyone in the room.

He was sorta loving,
kinda caring,
kinda tried to fuck my lazy boy.

It got a bit messy,
all over the curtains,
armchair covers,
throw pillows,
and carpets.

That is perhaps the truest thing I have ever read here.
