flashbacks
    #3616056 - 01/12/05 03:06 AM (11 years, 10 months ago)

I ate 3 grams this friday of not sure what exact kind, although I swear I've had flashbacks or something. I've read that it can occur and I was just wondering who has ever had this. Becuase I was walking home from school and this pile of snow shrunk as it stayed the same, also I've caught things moving for a second, then they don't. It's kinda strange but I'm asking out of curiousity, just to make sure it's not me screwing around with myself.

Your doors of perception have been opened. Nothing to worry about unless it continues or gets worse without dosing again. Just don't develop a complex about it

psychedelics alter your perceptions - to this day i can still make a light in my house wobble or breath by looking at it because i saw this on mushrooms once.
On the other hands if you are mocing into overt psychocis, please get medical advice...

From Magic Mushroms of Australia and New Zealand by John W. Allen, Mark MErlin and Karl L. R. Jansen.

Quote:

FLASHBACKS
In 1973, Dr. Hall was the Principal Research Officer of the Narcotics Section of the Commonwealth Police Force in Canberra. Dr. Hall had also reported that several drug users had been experiencing recurring `flashbacks' from mushrooms that were similar to `flashbacks' which were associated with LSD consumption.

According to Dr. Karl L. R. Jansen, there is not any firm evidence that mushroom `flashbacks' can occur. Researchers in 1983, have reported that out of 318 specific cases of Psilocybe intoxications occurring in England between l978-l981, 21 patients experienced `flashback phenomena of some form' for up to four months after ingestion", and also mentioned that some of these were the result of drug synergy and polydrug abuse.

"...However, with such a controversial phenomena as `flashbacks', it is necessary to specify precisely what form these do take, so that they may be distinguished from psychological stress reactions wrongly attributed to past drug use." Dr. Hall also pointed out that "if solutions of mushroom extracts were injected intravenously, the results could be very serious." There are no known cases of such injections, and it seems extremely unlikely that anyone would attempt this.

Regarding that last statement about injections. IT seems that a few people have tried the latter and it ended with disasteres results ending in emergency room treatment for dysphoric reactions to said injestions. I think there were three papers published on that subject matter.

HPPD

--------------------
The only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won't let go of life, your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away. But they're not punishing you, they're freeing your soul. So, if you're frightened of dying and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away, but if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth...

Don't even suggest it, bf6. He'll go all hypochondriac on us now, and he didn't really list HPPD symptoms. Only 2-3% of the psychadelic community develops HPPD, thankfully.

Yeah especially in class, but it seems to mostly happen with snow, no idea why, just seems to shrink and expand. Thanks eveyrone. Ooh and also some friends(4 of us) and I are going to try acid. A friend and myself have never done it before but my 2 others have and they loved it. We are going to start off at my friends house who lives by the dyke(my city is surrounded by it, and at night it's pitch black and the lights on the mountain in the distance beyond the river, and the moon shines down on it and the path, it all looks so amazing, I always smoke pot there while listening to some pink floyd... One of the best things ever). And we are taking a flash light and a collideoscope(hope that's how you spell it). Well I was wondering what some experienced acid users might have to say about this idea of ours.

me, i'd be all over that chance, brother.. all that and then some! ya buddies with some lucy on a clear night with scenery like that.. man, i'd do it. be careful though.. don't overdue it your first time, it could turn into a horrid experience. i'd kinda reccomend atleast one of you stay off of acid, too.. i would reccomend one of you do nothing more than smoke some weed..

oh dear, I think if I were to even suggest that they'd laugh in my face. But I could see where you are coming from. Also we are bringing some E, which I'm not a big fan of because I am still confused about, because I heard it explodes serotonin, which isn't something I want to do, considering I will never get it back. But I don't know I guess we'll see. I'm not sure when this is happening though. We all want to do it as soon as possible, so I think today, my friend talked to the acid dealer, and his girlfriend talked to the E guy, so yeah. Well I'm really hoping it goes well and what not.
