I think I'm an idiot but I can't find the Pearls of Wisdom page. If I do a search on the message forums, there is a section called archive: Pearls of Wisdom but no way to get to it. Any ideas?

okay I will kill 2 birds with one stone, go to the pearls of wisdom page there is a post there by Ripper its how to use perlite in a jar with an air pump to create humidity, and elminates the need to mist your casings. So no more humidifiers, or misting, and what your looking for is called a hymidistat and they are not cheap! that one post by ripper will do all you need.

Humdifier wise. Holmes make the best ones that I've seen, no problems with failure. You might consider modifying your humidifier to put out less output (add a resistor in series with the volume control). I've heard that letting them run dry is really hard on the transducer (thing that vapourizes the water) and also water with hard minerals (got lots of white shit on the transducer?) are bad for it, use distilled water.

As far as humidistats, yes they are expensive, and not very accurate most of the time. Best and cheapest method is to control a humdifier via a decent digial timer with maybe 5 or more on/off cycles per hour. Then just fire it up and see how many cycles are required in a hour to keep the humidity where you need it.
