Hints on prevent scarring ?
    #7406454 - 09/13/07 09:21 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

I was shooting my crossbow today and the slope came back, hit and cut my nose, not to bad. It doesn't look to deep for stitches, I hope it doesn't scar on me. I'm really lucky it didn't hit my eye glasses.

Got any hints on prevent scarring ?

Coconut oil. The fresher the better

Butterfly bandaids. they're a type of band-aid that sort-of pinches the skin together. Sort-of like stitches but obviously without the thread and needle. If Anything they'll minimize the scar as much as possible. Then if for some reason you do have a scar get some mederma after it's fully healed to fade it as much as possible. My advice is not to use neosporin or anything like that because in my experience it makes the wound heal very fast leaving keloid (sp?) scars which are raised and suck

Scars are sexy. Don't worry about it.

We all have scars and deformities

Maybe if it was across his eye or something, but not a nose scar... that's just odd.

They have scar preventative ointments and stuff at your local grocery store pharmacy or whatever, plus neosporin is supposed to work too.
