I'd never really listened to them before I saw them at bonnaroo this year

I listened to them for about a week straight after getting back, and now I'm on another binge of their music (When You Smile, right now)

FLAMING LIPS= AWESOME.

Check out the abandoned hospital ship off their clouds taste metallic album. it's one of my favorites.

has anyone here ever played all 4 cds from zaireeka at the same time? I have the album but not 4 cd players :foreheadslap:

Definitely one of the greatest bands to ever have been created. Wayne Coyne himself may not be the one behind most of the musical direction, but he sure as hell sings in a way I just can't get over.

There's definitely something amazing in just about every song by them I've ever heard, I just pity the fact that I'm not ten years older so I could have actually been around when they were considered "new".

Why is it that being 19 leaves you out on the beginnings of just about every good thing ever made?

ZAIREEKA! Yeah, that album is quite something.. me and my friends used a laptop, dvd player and 2 stereos to do it, went out of time pretty early, and the laptop and tv sound crap, but it was still rad =) thats the one and only time we've attempted it, but i am newly inspired to try it out again.. Oh and Fearless Freaks is a great doco too...

I'd love to listen to zaireeka sometime especially whilst tripping.

The first time I ever listened to the flaming lips was a couple years ago while I was tripping balls on like 4 hits of acid and my buddy threw on yoshimi battles the pink robots. I was hooked after that its great stuff.

Yeah. any flaming lips album is good for that kind of stuff. I especially love to smoke and listen to YBTPR. :stoner:
