good luck with that...

it will be sold on some Spore Vendors site within a year or so.

One way to do this would be by trademarking the name. I don't think you could trademark Oak Ridge, it's already a place- but if you called it "Original Oak Ridge" or something you could trademark that. Not sure on the actual process, but Google can give the info I'm sure.

I live not even 50 miles (give or take) from oak ridge. Can I get an exact location perhaps where you found these? I have only been able to gather cubes from a field in Cleveland, but they cut access roads for power towers and the strain was lost. (I called them Ocoees')

I'm super happy to know that there were cubes found even further north than where I found mine!

I wish it would rain, I have yet to have a good day to go looking, damned drought...

I would say google earth the location I gave in the description on www.fsre.nl (u actually have to read the strain description) BUT, oak ridge is a black blob on google earth/maps.

I do believe if i post exact co ordinance or address, I could get sighted for some kind of infraction.

but 5 miles west of y-12 nuclear weapons complex is "Carbide Park" known for it's lovely carbon run off. (this city used to be a toxic dump)

i used to play in a creek, in the yard of my elementary school (i lived in walking distance), they closed the creek permanently and put up signs because mercury was floating all in it. This is not uncommon in Oak Ridge.

ok so i dont really want to go through and trademark a drugshroom spore, i don't own them, the "Great Provider" does, whomever that deity may be for you.

But, that would be my intentions. HAHAH shot down very easily by teh fact that a) i'd have to contact an attorney and b) im too lazy for all that.

Since I haven't acted in a timely matter, there is nothing I can really do about vendors selling this spore, I assure you, I make no money off of it, and I do not want to.

So, to combat it's sales. I will be posting a P.O. Box set up for requests. There will be no charge for the strain (or any other I have on hand) and no charge for shipping, it's a stamp, if i cant afford a few hundred dollars in stamps a year, i shouldn't have this hobby.

was a pipe dream to preserve something and just spread it around, instead of someone making money off of it. I understand the world isn't free, but some things should/can be. Like clean water to drink.
a frikkn spore print that cost me nothing. My work and passion, which money does not satisfy, i get a sense of accomplishment, not cash thirsty.

anyhow

Psilocybe subcubensis, is the pantropical sister species of Psilocybe cubensis, was first described by Dr. Gaston Guzman. It is macroscopically identical to Psilocybe cubensis, differing only by its smaller spores and consistently smaller pleurocystidia.

Oak Ridge, in the spring/summer, is very tropical in it's climate, very humid, and very hot.I have heard viet nam vets say it's very similar in humidity / heat/ lushness as veit nam itself. (never been so i dont know)

I do know however, it's very lush and very very very humid, and very hot..

Poplar Creek is a good place in oak ridge, i can't give exact directions, but it's very tree covered, and very lush, horsey's roam there.

Apparently MonsterMitch is from the same area, yet he claims no cubensis grow there. I beg to differ, I lived there 30 years, and for 10 years found PLENTY!

Ya know....I used to run the FSR.
I gave out over 10,000 prints..FREE
As a vendor..over 2000 syringes...FREE

I even paid all shipping and handling.

If you would like...I can help you spread this strain around.
I would not charge...ask anything..or want anything.

If you would like...I could include it with my regular orders.
I will take the time....spend the money on syringes and additional postage as well.

I enjoy meeting people like you.
I have done the same in the past.

Let me know...I would be glad to help.

Thank you ralphster, I would appreciate it. I know syringes aren't free man. But prints, on foil, they are!

But, it looks as though, even at my attorneys advice, I can do absolutely NOTHING to any vendor that wishes to sell it, other then shame them.

:frown:

If i would have gotten the patent office to lay the patent number ONE WEEK sooner, then I could actually do something.

I've been a loyal customer of Ralphsters, it'd be interesting to see it distributed via your site, but, I'm sure you can't do it for free consistently, I have no way to tell/ask you to do what you do with your business, but you should at least incur the price of your syringe. which is about 3 bux.

I don't know guys, anymore advice would help.

Workman, and yourself, both have had this same issue it seems.
:frown:

and thanks for starting the FSR...

FSRE has recieved multiple hundreds of these prints.

Hey WOrkman.. If you had a spore sample, could you verify my microscopic find???? Ralphster44 could you?

lemon shaped not ellipsoid, slightly smaller then reg cubensis. Growth paramaters tend to fall near pan.copelandia cyanescens with the regards it enjoys the same amount of FAE. Very meaty stipe, very dense cap, white ring around cap, veil does not tear until spores have dropped onto veil. Then Second printing seems very sterile, not evidence of bacterial or mold contams.

these things yell pantropical subcubensis to me.

Workman give me a place to send some prints and i'll be happy for you to give it a look over, and make those pretty slides you make.

Only two vendors I trust, WOrkman, and ralphster

could it have blown up during hurricanes? from different countries along floridas coast? Coz the find was not long after hurricanes.
And oak ridge too some blunt force storms afterwards.

I'd be happy to work it up. Check your PM's

It would be very unusual for Psilocybe subcubensis to be found as far north as TN. Guzman notes that tropical species typically have smaller spores than temperate species. Presumably the temperate species need thicker spore walls and larger nutrient reserves to survive harsher winters.

Got the PM thanks man i'll send the specimen in monday.

Also, to those that have asked for prints, I have sent out everyone so far, if you have any more requests direct the requests to this email address only.

freakyousoftly@gmail.com

thanks my other inboxes are full as shit and i get my legit mail there too so i need you guys to use the freakyousoftly@gmail.com address.

WOrkman, i'll be sending you a ten pack of prints also.

thanks bro.

and yes, that far north is very very very unusual...

it was found some the following summer after all the hurricanes in 03/04, so, u may very well debunk it as a subcube, and im not afraid of that, but, the spores are smaller then that of a normal cube.

ralphster im also sending you some prints as well. Did you PM me your PO box? i think you did im not sure.

Thanks, but one, maybe two prints is plenty for me. I am sure you can find better homes for them than a fate of perpetual cold storage.

Heya retrospect, how's it going with your casing/cake???

I did find man, that after about umpteen hundreds of pins started up, it took about 9 days for them to mature. I am thinking the cold fruiting temps of 73-75 are way too cold, i've upped my recent grow to 78-79*F, they seem to be growing faster and larger. Which again, is pointing more towards a pantropical subcubensis, warmer fruiting temps.

I am now currently out of 2nd generation prints, FSRE has plenty.
But, I will have 3rd gen prints next week. I will post again when I'm ready for filling out more requests.

Guys/Gals I really thank you for your support.
As of my first posting, I have donated 200+ prints.
I am very very happy with this.

I am sure not all of the people I donated to are going to go through the trouble of working on agar, and cloning, for those of you that do, please keep in touch with me @ freakyousoftly@gmail.com I'd like to recieve some of those prints from the ones that do.

I am thinking 3rd generation is looking a little more solid.
It's still working cloned myc.. I am vigrously trying to get the tomentose out of the picture and go straight rhizo.

I haven't gotten a pobox yet but will do today, and post that addy later this evnening.

THANK YOU GUYS VERY VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT@!!!!!

everyone enjoy ok!
