oak ridge 2nd gen a slow colonizer?

Hi all,
I was able to get a hold of a syringe containing oak ridge 2nd gen and knocked up some rye the same night I knocked up some b+. The B+ has already been shaken twice with every kernel at least 50% colonized with thin myc.
The OR on the other hand has only been shaken once and is just now recovering from that in a couple of very small spots. The jars were knocked up on 10/19 and are currently incubating in 77-79 degree temps.
I think all is well and am just curious if others have noticed the same thing.
Thanks, M

I don't think Oak Ridge has been refined enough on agar to get the same performance you would from a commercial strain syringe. Maybe that has nothing to do with it , but its just a theory .

My OakRidge colonized faster than my Orissa/Mex/Syzygy/Pink Buffalos...
I think there are too many variables to have a certain strain colonize the fastest every single time.

Just an update, and most of you may already know this....I'm still just a noob....but the OR myc is slower going than the B+ for sure, but it is a thick, cottony, PURE white, whereas the B+ myc has to thicken a good bit over several days to achieve this color and texture
very interesting...

The Oak Ridge strain I found isn't refined for commercial comparison. It's a wild find, that's being worked on. I have sent out thousands of free prints/syringes to get help refining it, and offering it for free until then, and even after that, when it is stabilized I will have a site solely for free orders.
Most people are having GREAT success. but remember, you are using unstabilized multispore, so it could vary from person to person.
