The fact that the mayor of NO and the governor of louisiana at the time of Katrina are Democrats is irrelevant, because under that National Response Plan, once the situation was declared an emergency (conspicuously 36 hours after the fact) the relief and rebuilding became the responsiblity of the federal government.

Brown then decided it would make the most sense to have relief workers sit in hotels in Mississippi and watch instructional videos for a couple days before they were allowed to enter the city, where people where still trapped, starving and dehydrated.

To be fair, the governor was the one responsible for sending in police and national guard to arrest looters before anyone was allowed to enter the city to give food, water and medicine to the people who were looting for those very things. So people were thrown in jail before they were seen to in any other capacity.

The blame falls on members of both parties, but mostly should fall on Michael Brown for not doing any aspect of his job correctly. Bush as usual didn't really do anything whatsoever, except for asking his Dad and Clinton to help him raise money, which they did.

first off, I was joking, if that wasnt obvious.

second, you act like it is nothing but black people in NO. Marion Barry got re-elected after being caught smoking crack.... does that mean that everyone in DC is a crackhead?

have you ever spent any amount of time in NO? what exactly makes you an expert on the racial climate of southern louisiana?
atleast some of us in this thread actually lived there.

"Chocolate city" is just about the most racist thing I have ever heard out of a politician's mouth. I'm not done filtering all the choices, but that is right up there. Doesn't take an expert to see that.
