Photoshop Elements?
    #731352 - 07/08/02 11:03 AM (21 years, 8 months ago)

Anyone familiar with Photoshop Elements, the recently released junior version of Photoshop? I read some very good reviews of it on the web, but that might have been puffery of some sort by Adobe people.

Supposedly it has most of the functionality of Photoshop, minus a few of the most sophisticated bells and whistles which are needed only by graphics professionals (which I'm not).

I'd appreciate any comments.

i havent heard about "elements" but I probably wouldnt buy it - kinda sounds like a rip. Regular photoshop is suprisingly not that hard to learn. just play around on it for a couple days and youll get the hang of it man. I started by downloading the entire program for free(dont ask), then did a couple tutorials and tried a couple of PS tutorials on the internet. total cost: $0.

Elements is nice if you are new to Photoshop and similar progs. But just as Cali said just go for Regualr Photoshop. You will get MUCH more out of the regular version. If you have any graphics experience just jump to the tried and true Photoshop 7.0. It has some Painter like qualities in that you can adjust the dynamics of your brushes. The features go on and on.

I tried out elements at a freinds home and I wasn't impressed.
