outdoor bud plants' leaves turning brown (pics)
    #7310124 -

two of my plants outdoors, the leaves are turning brown and crispy. It has been flowering for about 2 months now. I have been feeding w/ a diluted fert once a week (foxfarm tiger bloom w/ added lime for ph). PlantA's leaves turned brown first then it went over to plantB. They get good air circulating and plenty of sun. It has gotten over 100F for about a week. I wouldn't think it would be nut. deficiency as I feed w/ trace minerals everyonce in a while. Anyone know what might be the problem?

After looking at that possible phosphorus def.

Maybe even a watering problem or root rot(Dont think its root rot though) for the last pic you posted

My guess is maybe the roots are getting too hot.

Cut off the tiger bloom if it's close to the end of flowering. The first pic seems to be the most telling and from that it looks more like it's getting to much of something rather then to little the curling under of the leaves being a good sign of that.

The last time I fed them (yesterday), it had been about 2 weeks since the last feeding. I don't know if I should flush them or let them dry out a little. The first thing I thought when I say it only on the plant on the right was that it got hot. But now the other plant is experiencing it (like when I took the pic). Both plants have different medium too, one is composed about half with coir (trying different mediums this year) and the other is got more sand and peat. My other plants are doing just great, and they have different mediums as well. I hope its not an infection of some sort..

Look into the ph of the soil if you can with a soil ph test kit. Most hardware stores have them for like ten to twenty bucks. The yellow color is normal this time of the year on the leaves but the drying and curling of the leaves suggest something else is up. Well if it's not nutrients then look at the ph. When you don't know what the problem is you have to start removing the possibilities.

It might not be anything wrong with the pH.. Most plants have a flowering cycle of around 8-9 weeks (2 months) and during this the plant stops giving energy to the leaves and gives it to the buds to grow. So that yellowing might just be a harmless sign its almost time to harvest.. If you could give me a magnified picture of the buds and the trichs I will tell you howlong until you should harvest

After 22 years with this plant I can pretty safely say that the first and the third pic are having problems that are not caused by regular flowering.

Is that root rot maybe? Thats kind of how i could picture a plant going through root rot.

Did they dry right out at some point ? (i.e were they under watered for a bit ?)

Have you popped them out the pot to look at the roots? Possibly
something is very wrong with the roots, either from under watering for a few days, or some sort of grub eating at the roots.

FLUSH.

get yourself some bottled water and flush the hell outta that thing. Your getting nute burn like stated above. Your probably throwing your PH way off by adding that lime with your FF nute.

FLUSH FLUSH FLUSH.. wait a week or so and you'll see improvement, but the damaged leaves wont fix themselves.

when in doubt, flush.

and PEOPLE, dont give advice if your just gonna guess.. it doesnt help anyone.

I'd say thats too much and they are burning. Fert should be used more sparingly.

Looks like they're sun burnt and probably root bound.

I did leave to go on vacation for a week and didn't get to water them.  But a family member watered all my plants while I was gone, and it seemed my bud plants got watered too.  The thing that gets me is that the plant on the right was like that when I got back.  The other plant looked fine up until 3 days after that.  I think I have some ph strips that test water, I will flush one of the plants and measure the water coming from the bottom with my strips.  I will also inspect the roots.  At least my other plants are ok, but I didn't try new techniques with them   Thanks guys

Oh, the ferts I was using had a low ph (for storage reasons) hence the use of lime.  (from reading the bottle)

No offense, but everyone is guessing, even you.

It's all guesses unless we have the root ball in our hands.

okay, so lets say you have the root ball in your hands then, what are you lookin for? lol. root rot is very unlikely when its 100 outside.

And no, im not guessing. I didnt diagnose anything. I gave advice on how to fix what could be multiple problems. Most likely being the ph is way off causing 1 or more nutes to become unavailable.

bottom line is that flushing will eliminate many of the things that could be causing this. If after he flushes and he see's no improvement then theres only a few things it could be.
