Fungi from Fiji
    #7284572 -

I went to fiji about two years ago now, so the pics of the actives have already been posted before, but pics were deleted, long story short- everything is back and here is the full post. have a look!

While I was there I took some pics of the fungi I saw, but didn't always have my camera with me, considering sudden horrific storms that would swoop in.

I ended up discovering a mushroom that wasn't known to exist in the fijian region.

This is what I saw

Reishi!

A mushroom that resembles chicken-pot-pies... mmm...

It was dark

another unidentified log shroom

something that started as an egg-like sack

a mushroom growing out of a coconut lol

some composters of the forest floor

truly inspiring

after arranging to visit some cow grazing areas in search of Copelandia cyanescens and Psilocybe cubensis I had researched were the only known actives to exist in the fijian region, and coming up empty handed, I stumbled upon this log about 10 feet from the back door of our ghetto beach shack

Now I had found out also that the temps wouldn't reach fruiting time for the copes or cubes, and I wouldn't be here for the season, boy was I bummed...

as it turns out...

the log shrooms had some secrets to share!

after going through my head for a few days, I came to the conclusion that the mushroom I had was close or indeed Gymnopilus Luteofolius.

just so happens, it grew everywhere on the island, year round!

in one day I managed to collect alot of specimens and photos...

So there you have it, next time your in fiji and its not season for copes or cubes, head out into the coconut plantations and have a gander at the fallen coconut logs!

Nice bunch of pics!

That coconut has me bugged out though.  It almost looks like it has a deformed lion's face on it and the mushroom is an eye.

If I ever make it there to protest the Fiji Water factory, I'll look for some gyms.

If you want to find psilocybin in species that are not yet known to be psychoactive, you should do chemical tests. That way you won't get sick and die all the time.

Very cool photos, and nice gyms! Thanks for sharing!

Might want to spend a little more time trying to hold the camera still. Take 2 or three shots if you think it might be blurry, and junk the bad ones.
