Peat/Verm Casing???

Hey all!

I have peat moss and vermiculite and i want to make a casing. I heard something about peat moss being too acidic, is this true? If so how do i fix that?

Can i do a 50/50 Peat moss/verm casing? Is there anything wrong with that?

adjust PH by adding lime or buy
Jiffy 50/50 potting soil this is 50/50 w/lime to adjust ph already in it at lowes or walmart

I was gonna make my own 50/50+ but had a hard time finding lime and just went with the jiffy mix. I'm ready for the poo now anyway. So i'm stuck with a BIG bag of peate and 50lbs. of crushed oyster shell. Anyone need some oyster shell?
