LC strain comparisons
    #7227561 -

Ok lets just do it.. i've got two LC's going, one strain is B+ or EQ... damn me for not remembering, and the other is GT. The B+ is a dense white cloud of mycelia that is tough to break up when the jar is swirled and shaken.. but the GT mycelia seems to kinda linger around the bottom in smaller pieces, and when its swirled the mycelia breaks up into sandy pieces and fly's all around the jar.. small small bits of mycelia are definately noticable swirling around though. But yea.

Just wondering if this is normal?

edit: i've got two jars of each strain so 4 LC's total, and what i described is in BOTH pairs of jars.. this leads me to believe its the difference in characteristics of the mycelium. Just curious tho

Haven't noticed much, if any difference between strains with my LCs. From GT to Mazatapec its all been the same. Did you eyeball the amount of karo you used?

Yea Liquidkick. I guess its what you call Karo.
Over here it's called glucose syrup and is a very very thick, completely clear sweetener. Corn syrup perhaps.
Anyways.
Grow on!!
Funkey

After you have some experience with what mycelium looks like switch to honey, that sediment at the bottom of the honey that everyone bitches about making it harder to spot contamination is exactly what makes it so thick, its like the mycelium loves to latch on and eat that stuff and just get thicker and thicker,I used one lc to start some more last time I made lc and I swear it was thick enough that I could have used it in around 4 days

Yea the honey method is great... but for clarity I put up a glucose pic.
Heres a pic of what a honey LC might look like. The Myc cloud is actually very dense and thick but hard to see in honey LC's and pics.
All the best.

Yeah, i uploaded a pic of a previous LC i did a few months ago with a chunk of tissue from the stem of a beautiful B  fruit...

This is Karo 4%

GT is all sandy and the mycelia network isnt as laced and tangled as usual. I donno. And i've never had a contam with an LC either, let alone a single contam since my very first attempt at growing. Herm. i donno man. lolz.

Peace :mushroom2:
