I just hope for Mike Vick and to rub it in peoples' faces that he turns out to be very very minimal in his role in this.. and then IF Author Blank and/or Roger Goodall take away any of his pay, I then hope he and the NFLPA file a grivence against the NFL.

I agree 100%.  We'll see how it plays out.  He could quite well win a criminal case and still lose everything.

No, anyone who doubts Vick is a great QB is nuts. He has been plagued by having Jim Mora, and Mora Sr. around the organization which wants to run a west coast offense, but doesnt want to give him any quality WR's. Although in the past 1-2 years they have worked on getting him talent. Hell I believe Alge Crumpler the TE has led the Falcons in receptions 2 years in a row.

I would agree, he hasnt played to his full potential, but thats because he hasnt been given the players around him to do so. IMO.

what about Tom Brady?

2001 he had Troy Brown- Hall of Famer and David Patten
2002, added Deion Branch and David Givens
Kept this lineup through 2006 when they started to decline, if they ever really did "decline"

Now the Pats have went out and got more WR's like Randy Moss, because they realized, you need to have weapons at WR to contend.

Honestly, I see your point, and I agree somewhat.. yes Tom Brady is amazing, but he does need his WR's too, and thats been proven.

But, you could also argue that his WRs have been that good because of him, and Vick does not have the same effect. Peerless Price, pretty good in Buffalo. Yes, he was the 2, but he was still good. Pretty terrible in Atlanta. It works the opposite way for Brady, and it has on numerous occasions. It's kind of a chicken or egg argument though I suppose, but I'm of the opinion Brady makes his WRs great, and Vick can't do that. Vick really isn't great, I'm confident I could name ten better QBs.

Its a mixture of both for sure.. look at the best QB's in the league right now, yes they are good, but they have great targets

Peyton has Wayne, Harrison, and now Anthony Gonzales.
Palmer has Chad Johnson, TJ, Chris Henry when he isnt in jail, and Tabb Perry
the list goes on..

Wasnt Peerless only in Atlanta for Vicks rookie and 2nd seasons? I dont think that is a fair evaluation. I mean seriously, has Vick ever had 1 great receiver. NO.

I agree with Brady though, hes one of the most accurate passers to play the game and makes others around him great. Just like Peyton does.

lets just stop the Brady vs Vick discussions...

Vick IS a mediocore QB, who resorts to his running ability to save his below par passing game. He HAS had his chances to win big games and just didnt show up. Falcons lost to Eagles in 2004 NFC Championship Game (1 INT, 24 rush yards) and 2002 to the Eagles also, in 2nd round (2 INT, 30 yds rush).

so lets not say Vick hasnt had the weapons. He has had his chances..it just proves he can be contained by a good defense.

It wasn't a Vick vs. Brady discussion really. It was more of a counterpoint. Vick just isn't great, and I won't be convinced otherwise Banez.

I never said Vick was great, I think he is a good quarterback who has the potential to be great if he was given a decent head coach and weapons at the wideout.

I was looking forward to seeing Vick work with Petrino. Hell I was planning on using Vick as my #2 QB in a lot of fantasy leagues, i have to rethink that strategy now.

I think it's bullshit that he didn't know what was going on.  He held the license to breed dogs - of course he knew what was going on.  Today at his court date he was required to give up that license.  I think that the NFL made the right call by telling him not to report to camp, given some of the gruesome details that have come out about his involvement in this whole thing - there are a few witnesses to him actually participating in the killing of 8 dogs last year.  He should never play football again. 

I guess you can take the boy out of the hood, but not the hood out of the boy, huh?  :noway:

Vick will get off with probation and be back in time for Week 4 and all of this will be forgotten or forgiven by the playoffs. This is America after all.

And I'm counting the seconds until either Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton throw themselves into this like a soldier diving on a grenade and turn this into a race issue.

Thank goodness Vick didn't get caught smoking weed otherwise he'd be excommunicated our of the NFL and virtually out of the country.

well.....trial is set for Late November, which is far into the season, more like week 12...so he is not going to be back by week 4.

just face it, he is NOT going to play this year..and this is not something that people will forget. this is a big deal, and he can go to the can..which i am adamently rooting for.

i went to eagles vs. falcons on new years eve last season, week 17..i want to be able to say I saw Mike Vick play his last NFL game.


but AMEN on the sharpton/jackson...its only a matter of time until they speak up on this issue

What no one has mentioned is there are a number of actual eyewitnesses who reported to the feds seeing and knowing Vick's involvement all along. From what I gather, Vick bankrolled the whole operation (his cronies are probably not wealthy) and his interest in dogfighting has been documented to his college days.

I MAY understand if this operation was a new, months-old operation but in fact it has been going on for 6 years.

To say Vick had no knowledge of activities at his home for 6 years is mind-boggling.

I call shenanigans on Vick and myself believe he was involved to the extent the feds say he was.

You obviously arent up to date on the matter... they have 2 eye witnesses, 2 people who were facing federal charges and in return made a plea bargain leading up to an indictment.

in short, they have 2 snitches who threw Mike Vick's name out, and the feds jumped all over it.. the facts arent out yet. Im sorry I dont feel comfortable just calling someone guilty before even hearing their side of the story.
