You, sir, have not watched good lacrosse.

People from Ohio that move to AZ just don't get it. Watch some 'Cuse, Hopkins, UVA, Maryland, or Duke lax and tell me it's boring.

Honestly if someone likes college basketball they should like college lax, the games are very similar.

Picklez: To me March Madness truly encompasses the races up to the tournies (not so much now that every Big East team gets in), the conference tournies, and selection Sunday. Right now is my favorite time of the years in sports, especially now that I have ESPN Full Court and I'm coaching a HS lax team that is weeks away from starting games. I fucking love late winter/early spring.

I mean you know me, when there is sports being played, I am watching. I love me some college basketball

But to me it just doesnt get exciting until the first day of the NCAA. I cant wait to see the bracket. On second thought, the Selection show might me one of my favorite parts of the tourney as well

I have watched the NCAA finals and stuff on ESPN 2.  I just find the sport boring.  I'm familiar with the sport my high school won the state championship 3 out of the 4 years i went to high school in ohio.  It's just boring imo:shrug:

UA??

And honestly I stress that unless you grew up around the top notch areas of high school ball people still won't truly appreciate the beauty of lacrosse. Hopefully that will change over the years.
There are highly competitive D1 programs here that would have been relegated to class 2 or 3 (D2 or 3 in Ohio language) ball in Central New York.

See, to me this isn't special.
And that isn't to take away anything from that guy. Anytime you go D1 in lacrosse you're probably good. But to me "Could compete for a starting spot" means he was probably one of the worse D1 players to come from my area. In Ohio just going D1 means a lot. It's a huge sports culture shock. For the four years I was in highschool I think we had 6 players go D1 and contribute. I was the rare exception of a good/decent player that didn't play at any level.

The only reason I bring this up is because it's the same problem I'm running into with the team I coach. We have one kid (one fucking kid!) going D3 at a school that has never played college varsity ball before and now everyone thinks he's sick. Me and one other coach from back East are trying to change the culture and it's so fucking hard. It just becomes frustrating.
