listening to all 3 tracks now. will vote and give my feedback this time.

hopefully 2 out of these 3 tracks suck, so i can justify voting. not like last time  :smile: where all tracks were simply so amazing i couldn't bring my self to vote.

okay, i voted. i won't say which one i voted for, but i will give my feedback:

Wonder Lust: i love the title. great composition, and very catchy and memorable. but, if the point of this whole contest is to best capture the image at hand, in this case the journey of the central figure (and it may just be me conveying my personality into the mix) but the mood of the song was almost too playful for the image. the song almost sounded like it should be in a british satire movie or something...and it was a bit too short for me to get a true feeling of what you were trying to accomplish. but, overall, very well recorded, and a very good composition, i just don't think it fit the image as well as it could have.

Dream: i liked it instantly. the sound of many layered acoustic guitars is always a welcoming sound; warm, thick, enveloping. it conveys a sense of warmth and radiance that i see in the image. it also has the feeling of a journey that is about to begin. i can't say that i REALLY enjoyed the vocals when they came in, i was just starting to groove on the guitar riffage and become familiar with it, BUT all in all, they still convey a good sense of the mood of the image. very well done.

Under it All: mad skills in your mixing abilities. a very full sound, and quite intricate. i take it you know your theory :smile: once the song actually kicks in full bore it really does a nice job of working with the image. BUT, the only qualm i had was that you started with the sound of an ocean. this may be just a bit too nit picky, but i didn't see any water in this image, so that kind of threw me for a loop right at the start. i love when that drum beat kicks in along with the piano. also, the vocals are almost too overwhelming in parts, and kind of drift in and out of tune, which was sort of distracting, but i could really feel what you were trying to do, and it would work with a little more polishing methinks. nice work.

VERY NICE WORK EVERYONE! i hope we can keep this composition contest going on!

Do forgive my lack of effort on staying on this.  Number of things kind of hindered my concentration on the contest.  New harry potter book, me taking care of a family friends house.  I'm also in the middle of recording a track with my band.  (that of course is no excuse)

I'm going to declare X2and2makes5 the official winner.  I want to say, I fucking loved your track.  You did a really good job. Not sure why no one liked your vocals.  I thought they blended well with the song.  Anyway, grats man.  Go ahead and look for a new photo and PM me when your down to start the new contest.  I assure you I'll be much more on it next round. (I'm also going to get my winning title back :wink: )
