I want to learn to play a musical instrument

I'm thinking bass...whaddya think the cheapest I could get a used Bass for would be? I'm pretty sure my mom has my sister's old amp...

I play bass and guitar. I can teach you some shit when I come up.

What are you looking to spend? What kind of quality do you want. I have my bass for sale. But, it's probably out of your price range.

Why not guitar? If you learn guitar first, learning bass will be pratically no work!

I would also suggest an obscure instrument...OLF could you scoreme a Shofar?

How much is yours for sale for? And didn't you get it for free from some junky kid or something?

Given that you're a Shroomerite I'd let the bass and the case go for $600. That's a good deal for a used Japanese made Fender Precision bass signature model.

Mandolin's are incredibly hard to play well, though. They are just about as techinical as any orchestral instrument; even banjo is.

I just totally let my gear-snobbishness get to me and warp my advice. I only buy guitars that cost at least $800 and above.

A $200 bass would not be bad for a beginner. I would suggest some of the cheaper Ibanez models. When I'm in 'da city we can go shopping. I can tell you what to steer clear of.

mandolins arent incredibly hard to play, easier than guitar atleast. i got mine back in december and i'm pretty good at it now. i play banjo too, which i find to be easier than guitar too. once you get your right hand roll patterns down on the banjo, it becomes pretty simple. scruggs style that is.

I just realized how much of a hillbilly I am! :rolleyes:

I got a mandolin, banjo, 12 string, gut bucket, and a six string

I also been known to play the spoons in public :hillbilly:

I even rock overalls. :rolleyes:
