Whats your favorite song ever and why?

Ok, I was bored so I grabbed my ipod clicked shuffle and "surprise" I didn't even know the song was on there. I figure I cant be the only person who ignores some music on their computer or ipod. So, who is your favorite artist, what is your favorite song by them, and why?

My personal favorite is "I'm Not Okay(I Promise)" by My Chemical Romance. I like their music because I can relate to alot of it. That song is my favorite because it was the first My Chemical Romance song I ever heard, and I know have been in very similar situations before.

My favorite artist(s) and song(s) change all the time. Whatever I listen to depends on what I am feeling at that exact moment. There is so much music out there and so many ways to relate to it.

Please don't make me choose between those two songs, it would be like a mom having to pick a kid or a artist having to pick a painting. I see so much of myself in both of those songs, like I think those two songs define me better as a person than I ever could. I know that sounds strange but it's true.

my favorite "song" would have to be every vibration that is vibrating right now.

no seriously, everything is music, you just have to open your heart and you will see.

but as for the vibrations that the humans call "songs" my favorite would be the one in my head right now, or just about anything by Frank Zappa.

i first heard this group my first acid trip.. year 2000.  just an awesome chill song.

It's one of my all-time favorites but I can't pick one over all of em.  this one sticks out though :smile:

Wow. I honestly have too many to try to pick. I'll just name mine from each genre.

At the momment, it's "Hurt" by Christina Aguilera. Before people flame me, I generally don't like most "pop", but the lyrics and instrumental with THAT
VOICE easily make it the best of 2007.

My all time favorite is a tie b/w "Us and Them" by Pink floyd and "A Change is gonna come" by Sam Cooke. Excellent everything amazing vocals.

This is a really tough question....

I cant narrow it to a song, but any thing 'Isis'...great post metal band,all of their songs are great IMO.

I *almost* want to say Bohemian Rhapsody, just because me and this song go way fucken back...and it's ALWAYS touched me in ways that 99.9999999% of the music out there couldn't ever even begin to fucken aspire to

...BUT...

I have this ungodly infatuation with Pink Floyd, and I hold both Echoes and Atom Heart Mother to such unrealistic standards (roughly the same as a lot of people will for Bach or Beethoven or some shit) that I can't help but feel that these two pieces of fucken artwork are akin to the fucken Sistine Chapel or some shit

Queen may have painted the Mona Lisa with Bohemian Rhapsody, but Floyd created the entire collective works of the italian renaissance with Atom Heart Mother

I was in a bowling alley on a Sat. night where there was a DJ...he played the GROSSESED RAP which, to me, should be spelled with a 'C'...not DJ but rap...so anyway, I ask him to play ANYTHING else..had to write it down..he couldn't hear me speak....he played Bohemian Rapsody....YEAH! Anywhere the wind blows!

well, mine is more like a combination of songs from the Grateful Dead's "Truckin' Up To Buffalo" July 4th, 1989, "Ship Of Fools"> "Playing In The Band"> "Terrapin Station"> "Drums"> "Space"> "I Will Take You Home"> "All Along The Watchtower"> "Morning Dew"> "Not Fade Away" and "U.S. Blues", which isn't linked to the other songs but makes for a nice ending to the album.

If I was absolutely forced to choose, I might have to go with Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, but I mean, to choose a favorite song ever is pretty impossible.

because its basically a story of his life growing up and how hes made it so far and how he went from rags to riches from nothin to somethin. its a very classic and inspirational song by one of the greatest who ever picked up a mic :wink:
