You know what's weird? Trent Reznor's hometown is very near my hometown. I'm friends with a guy whose family is friends with the Reznors. This guy's dad is even currently in a band with Trent's dad.

Small world.

i'm not so much a fan of the newer stuff, and no so much a fan of the overall tone of the older stuff.

but all in all, there is something completely unique in NIN's works, particularly the middle works.
some strange perfection i've never been able to put my finger on.

i wish he would make electronic music.

Just those two.  I tell those two stories all of the time too.  :smirk:

P.S.  Sharon Stone was born in a town that is like 45 miles away from my hometown.

P.P.S.  Chris Kirkpatrick from N'Sync used to live in my hometown for a few years.

Listen to The Downward Spiral and Broken. Those two are their best. if you don't like those, you probably don't like NIN.

I tried listening to two or three of their albums. I tried to like them. They sounded like they could be a great band... but I found that they managed to fucked up all their songs so that they sounded like shit. Almost all their music had annoying shit in it that just did not sound good to my ears.

IMO the only album you need is The Downward Spiral, the little acoustic breaks on that CD are amazing. Does anybody know if that's Trent or is it somebody else?
