FLaShBaCkZ- done alot of mushies

I have done mushies many mnay times, i am 20 years old and was wondering if flashbacks almost every day, more than once a day is normal. I have only tried lsd once. Sometimes the flashes are cool and make me feel alot better some bring me into the "bad" trip situation. wondering if this is "normal"?

Do you drink heavily?

I usually get them after I passout from drinking and wake up again, its almost like straight trippin again...

They are moments of increased awareness. You should just embrace them. Resistance is what causes the "bad trip" situation.

^no, just no, someone told me that flashbacks WERE just increased awareness, because i related the increase awareness to when i was on lsd

its utter bullshit, i know im having a re-trip when im literally getting tracers from waving my hands in front of my face

welcome to heaven.... welcome to hell! That sucks, I never had flashbacks from shrooms, and have done a shit load of them in my life. I thought it was pretty rare to get flashbacks from shrooms, either way that fuckin sucks. Maybe it triggered a hidden schizophrenia?

Man, I was in the middle of my communication class at the college last semester, and I got spun into a crazy dimension of hell that I couldn't control! I thought I was going to pass out on my way to the bathroom, but I managed to keep everything under control. It had been a long time since tripping, but I recognize the feeling of a good "flashback"...

You can call it increased awareness, you can call it a state of mind that has become a part of you..... Who cares!
It sure as hell is not bullshit.
Some people may call it increased awareness because it actually is alot like tripping, and after effects are not only visual when they hit, or when constantly flowing from day to day.

anyways.

I have used a shit ton of hallucinogens, and have never had a "flashback".

I do see visuals all day, If I try to let them take over they generally do. This never happens unexpectedly though.
It can happen after smoking a good bit of weed, it is more intense in the minutes after I wake up in the morning, when coming down from being drunk, or when I want it to happen/allow it to happen.

Of all the things that for me, bring back a feeling of tripping most intensely, is anxiety.
The reason flashbacks have such a bad rep is partly because of this. If you have experienced anxiety during a trip, or even the more primal psychedelic anxiety that has no real personal cause, then you will likely associate/connect your variety/range of anxiety stricken experiences.

I live on a pretty level plain though, and if I had more of an anxiety issue in my life, I may by now have experienced a "sudden" flashback.

Im not saying this is the only cause for sudden flashbacks. Its just one obvious cause, and its part of the bad rep psychedelics have had for years.

For me, this shit works pretty smooth. Nothing sudden about it.

I start getting heavier visuals when me and my trip buddy start having one of our classic psychedelic discussions while sober.
2 people I know have told me that I can make them trip when I talk about certain subjects.

The mind works in some mysterious ways, and if you have read about flashbacks often enough, even on this site, you will know just how wide the scope of the word "flashback" really is.

You have HPPD, thats different than having a flashback, they are two totally different things

Yeh i suppose you COULD call a flashback "increased awareness", but you can also call Marijuana "pot", that doesn't necissarily make it a "pot"...

I can say this: these flashbacks stem DIRECTLY from drug use, no one has them before they've taken psychedelic drugs, thats for sure.

They aren't JUST "increased awareness" in the most subjective sense, they aren't just minor visual distortions and a trippy feeling, a lot of the time its full on trippin like you just had a low dose of mushrooms or lsd...

All I can say is that honestly, I dont even know where to start with a post like that.

  SOme of what you said fits right into what I was saying.
  Some of it was total bullshit.  Then again, bullshit is your mantra.
I dont have hppd.  I dont fit that "diagnosis".

  The only reason people can trip when not on anything is because this shit sticks.

  SOme people experience it suddenly some times.  Some people experience it all the time but can control it.

  My experience with flashbacks is so smooth because I know the variety of things that can cause them, and can also control most of those outside factors.
  It all stems from the fact that you have been there and you neurology can access that place under the righ circumstances.
  You can call it increased awareness, or accept it for what it is.
Lingering effects which you may also consider to be increased awareness.


  Now im not so sure you have an even similare approach to hallucinogens as I.
  All I know, is that if on lsd, our increase in certain types of perception are infact much greater, and if you said that in real time while me, you, and my trip buddy were on lsd, me and my friend would laugh our asses off so fucking hard. Really though, it just deserves some elf like laughter and a certain look my friend and I would give each other.  That only happens because we trust that we both heard you say so many things that deserve a comment but are not worth it.
  Not because we disagree entirely, but just because you talk funny, and dont fit into our ever growing awareness.

  I dont know about you all, but lsd can really open people up.  Can make minds move at the fucking speed of light....lol
  Somehow, with the right people, and if you are capable, you will notice a very fucking serious increase in awareness.
  For many people I know, their listening skills are better, and they develope an inpired capasity to speak when sober.
  Thats because they are more aware.  Every conversation becomes a fucking never ending math problem.

  Dont tell people that psychedelics or their after effects make people less aware.

Hallucinogens are boundary dissolvers... if you take them, sometimes the boundaries will stay partly dissolved for some time, or permanently. It's part of taking hallucinogens. The best way to get over it is just to roll with it, use it to your benefit.

Now thats what some would consider to be advise right there, and I agree entirely.

"Awareness" aside, and aside from what you think psychedelics are all about.

The river roll, roll, rolls.........

If anything you are taking bothers you then stop and work with its effects until next time. If you really work with this psychedelic weirdness, it cant easily hurt you, and it even may make your next trip the best ever.

In my opinion, psychedelics are not some game, and anyone who knows enough about psychedelics knows why flashbacks CAN happen, and even why some of the higher dosers dont experience them.

They do become a part of you.
The way in which this manafests varies from person to person.
