My friend is going out of town and his jars are ready to be cased.ITll be 2 weeks before hes back.Should the jars be kept in the incubator or put into the fridge?
He plans to case when he returns..

He should either leave 'em alone in the dark, or put 'em in a self air-changing terrarium and have a VERY pleasant surprise when he gets back.

If left alone in the dark..Wont they go invitro? He wants a way to stall the mycelium,but not kill it. Any ideas? I know this has been asked before,but I wasnt able to find anything.

I have left jars in the incubator 3 weeks beyond their time to be birthed with no problems.
I use 1/2-pint jars, filter disks and the white plastic lids. Sometimes the tape has been left covering the hole, sometimes not, doesn?t seem to make a difference. My incubator stays at 85% humidity.

If the jars are fully colonized you can stop any growth by placing them in a fridger. When its time, they can be placed directly into the grow chamber from there. The fridge will not only stall the jars, but also serve as a cold shock for them.
If they are cubes... the cold shock is not nessessary but it also won't hurt it.

Possibly, but no harm done there. If you refrigerate the jars for 2 weeks, you may end up with no pinning when you try to fruit the cakes. 2 weeks of refrigeration may have very undesireable effects on the mycelium.
I'll tell you what, send me the jars, I'll fruit 'em for ya for 1/3 of the outcome. <-JOKE

Josh,
I know your in a better place now.
You don't need to worry about your shrooms no more.
I hope your family and friends are doing ok....in this truely sad time.
Hopefully you didn't die in vain.....and someone will read about your death and it will save their life!
Josh had PM'd me asking for advice on how to keep his shrooms til he got back from his trip.
We had talked several times about the horse poo tek....he wanted to try it.
Sadly now we won't be able to talk back and forth.
I keep thinking about the person that has to clean up his place finding his mushrooms.....I hope they are a cool relative!
I hope others will learn that overdoing drugs isn't a good thing.
Moderation my friends..... Overdosing isn't a fun thing......i know.
