I would suppose it would'nt hurt it if the alcohol was all the way evaporated. You might be better off to flame sterilize it with an alcohol flame. It actually isn't necessary to sterilize it everytime you do another jar, unless it touches something else besides the jar or if you're not certain about it's sterility.

I personally use a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol wipe the needle and then rewipe it with a dry cotton ball.....works for me and I do sterilize my needle after I inoculate each hole.....I guess I would rather be safe than sorry......nothing is worse than seeing a contam take over especially if its one you could have prevented..... I dont flame sterile my needle as it still leaves a black residue (no I dont use a bic, I used a alcohol lamp)
I sure as hell dont want that crap in my jars.

Where exactly do you find these alcohol flames your talking about? So to be completely safe I need heat plus alcohol for starility? thanx for all the info Im fiding the community area of the shroomery as much help if not more than the step by steps in the grow find area thanks alot for all the advice, cant wait to start!!!!
