Seeking interviews for documentary film...

I am in the process of getting people on board to be interviewed for a documentary which will be shot in the fall/winter of this year. In the film, we plan to show that there really are spirtual, medicinal, and possible evolutionary benefits to certain illegal psychoactive plants (psilocybin, peyote, ayahuasca, etc.) and that the war on drugs is a giant crock by demonizing the negative health effects to many of our legal commodites (such as alcohol, tobacco, speed in the form of anti-depressants and weight loss pills, mainstream western religion, television, etc.). I already have plenty of interviews lined up with psychedelic experts from college professors and authors to doctors currently doing real research with psychedelic drugs. Now I just need to hear from the everyday man/woman who has or continues to use psychedelic drugs in a ritualistic manner. Housewives, working class men, college students, WHOEVER. I live in Oregon but we plan to travel across the country and go wherever we need to to get these interviews. So far, we have interviews in as far away places as Boston, Illinois, New Mexico, California. So as you see, we are pretty much doing this wherever we may need to. We plan to purchase an economical vehicle adequate for the crew (such as a P.O.S. minivan) and hit the road later this year.

Well I would have to meet you first and converse with you to adequately gain an idea of the angle from which you are going to be preparing this film, and how you are going to portray the use of psychedelics. I think this sounds like a wonderful idea, and I'd love to be part of it if possible. Maybe there's an opening for a European/Canadian perspective? :grin:

I live in a suburb about 1 hour away from Toronto, if you guys can make it up here I'd be more than happy to set up a meeting.

That sounds like a fun project JesusvsBuddha. Usually folks are suspicious when people role onto the boards and immediately start looking to meet people in real life. But you have a good story so folks seen to trust you, but I'm not sure I do.

If you are legit, then you will certainly be able to tell me something that will ease my mind. Who are you affiliated with, university, political party? Who is funding your project? Where do you plan to air your documentary when it is completed?

Sounds quite interesting and looks like this has a lot of potential. Down here in southern Arizona I know quite a few people, including myself, who would be eager to voice their views on this topic.

I'll answer your questions though I'm not sure my answers will be enough to set such an apparent fear-driven mind at ease.
A- I'm affiliated with nobody. In fact, our tiny production company is called Nobuddy Films. It's just some friends and I.
B- I quit going to college a few years ago once I figured out what was really going on. There is no university behind this.
C- Political party? Are you fucking kidding me? I stopped giving a fuck about belonging to any "political party" as soon as I started using psychedelics. How about this? People Tired of Getting Fucked Over by Political Parties That can be my political party.
D- We plan to air the finished product on a website (profit free) for a while before shopping it around to a few select festivals.

Now that I've answered your questions, am I "legit" enough for you. If not, I don't really give a fuck, because there are plenty of other people who never questioned it.
